Message from the President

July 15, 2026
As printed in the 2026 Kinmount Fair Prize List

Some of my earliest and fondest memories are of attending the local fall fair – the smells of livestock, fair food, and motorsports, the thrills of the midway, and the pride that came with the sight of a ribbon pinned to an exhibit hall entry or seeing my own school artwork on display. From the time I was a child, the agricultural fair represented something special to me: a place where community came alive, where the hard work of farm families was recognized, and where the best of rural life was on full display. That love for the fair has never left me, and it is what ultimately led me to serve the Kinmount Agricultural Society.

None of what you see at our fair happens without the extraordinary dedication of our volunteers. Behind every well-organized class, every friendly greeting at the gate, and every smoothly run event is a person who gave freely of their time and talent because they believe in what this fair stands for. Our volunteers are the backbone of this Society, and their commitment, year after year, is nothing short of remarkable. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of them.

As President, my focus is on building a strong and sustainable foundation for this Society so that the fair we all love can continue to thrive for generations to come. That means investing in our governance and ensuring the structures that support this organization are as solid as the agricultural traditions we celebrate. The Kinmount Fair has a proud history, and it is our collective responsibility to carry it forward with the same passion and care that those before us demonstrated.

Thank you for your continued support of the Kinmount Agricultural Society. I look forward to seeing you at the fair.
