Virtual Fair

This year, we are doing something different for our exhibits!

Because of COVID-19, we are holding a virtual fair in 2020, which includes virtual exhibit submissions.

The virtual fair will run for two weeks, from September 3-17.

Choose your desired category to submit an exhibit, complete the form, and submit a photo of your exhibit. * If you require assistance uploading your images, please contact info@kinmountfair.net or call 705-488-2871

RULES OF THE VIRTUAL FAIR

The following guidelines apply to all categories of exhibits, EXCEPT the Junior Section. Please see those sections for specific guidelines.

  1. There is no fee to participate in our virtual fair.  It is open to any resident of Ontario.
  2. Entries must be submitted through the fair website before 11:59 pm on Thursday September 17.
  3. Entries are to be submitted as an image. Entries will be judged solely on the image submitted.
  4. If you require assistance with taking or uploading photos, please email info@kinmountfair.net or call 705-488-2871 and we will be happy to assist you.
  5. The exhibit judging will take place between September 18 and September 20.  Results will be announced on Monday September 21 by noon through the fair website and social media pages.
  6. Only one (1) entry is allowed per person in each individual section and the same article/exhibit cannot be entered in more than one section.
  7. Any exhibits entered in the 2020 Virtual Fair are still eligible to be entered in the 2021 Fair.
  8. Monetary prizes are not being awarded this year, however, a prize will be awarded to the individual with the highest number of points in each category, as well as to the individual with the highest number of points overall.  Points will be calculated as follows:  1st place – 5 pts; 2nd place – 4 pts; 3rd place – 3 pts; all other entries – 1 pt

Rules and Regulations

  1. Flowers are to be shown with their own foliage and no artificial colouring.
  2. Use a white/neutral background when taking photos, if possible.

  1. Amateur photographers only.
  2. Exhibitor must have taken all photos.

Needlecraft

Rules & Regulations

  1. Exhibits to be the work of the exhibitor.
  2. Needlecraft must be clean.
  3. Items must appear new.
  4. Embroidery and sewing must be pressed.
  5. Use a white/neutral background when taking photos, if possible.
  • Toddler’s Homemade Toy, any kind

Quilting

Rules & Regulations

  1. Exhibits to be the work of the exhibitor.
  2. Quilt must be clean.
  3. Items must appear new.
  4. Include a ruler or tape measure in the image on one side of quilt.
  5. Use a white/neutral background when taking photos, if possible

Machine Quilted Section

Arts and Crafts

  1. All arts and crafts must be the work of the exhibitor.
  2. Use a white/neutral background when taking photos, if possible.

Junior Exhibition

Rules and Regulations

  1. Junior Exhibits submitted to website with the following information: Exhibitor Name, Exhibitor Age (as of July 31, 2020), Parent Name, Parent Email, Mailing Address, Phone Number
  2. Exhibitors must be under the age of 15 (inclusive). Except Youth Poster Category.
  3. Please show the age of the exhibitor in the image or entry will be disqualified.
  4. Show the age only, no names or other identifying information. Some ways to do this – write the age on the exhibit, include a small piece of paper with the age in the image, or add the text on to the image before submitting.
  5. All entries must be handmade and not computer generated.
  6. Use a white/neutral background when taking photos, if possible.
  7. Parents are urged to allow children to do the work and preparation of exhibits without assistance. Please encourage them in every way, but remember that every bit of work you do for them helps defeat the objective of the Junior Section of the fair.

  • Cupcake decorated to look like a farm animal. (Decorations must be edible. Decoration only to be judged)
  • Three garden carrots (4-6” long, stems attached) – include a ruler in the image

Youth Poster

Theme: “Promoting Your Fair”

Name and date of the fair must be clearly shown on the poster

Rules and Regulations

  1. Poster must be hand drawn.
  2. Poster size: minimum 22 cm x 28 cm to a maximum of 28 cm x 44 cm, without border. Please include a ruler in the photo.
  3. Each entry must be centered on cardstock or Bristol board to give a 5.5 cm border on all sides.
  4. Each exhibitor is limited to one entry.

Age categories:

a) Junior – up to and including grade 4

b) Intermediate – Grades 5-8

c) Senior – Grades 9-12

Prize Money: 1st – $10.00, 2nd – $5.00

Agriculture

Livestock

Rules and regulations

  1. Animals should be clean and/or groomed.
  2. For all sections the exhibitor should be in the photo.

  1. Best Cow – Showmanship
  2. Best Sheep – Showmanship
  3. Dressed Up Goat – Showmanship
  4. Best Hen/Rooster

Horses

  • Costume class – take a picture of horse/rider in costume
  • Showmanship – English or Western Show-ready apparel, horse in full tack

Other

Mutt Show

  1. Dog should be clean and/or groomed.
  2. For all sections the exhibitor should be in the photo.

Parade
