Classes 1-5 Draft Horse Specials

  1. Four Horse Hitch, heavy draft, to be show on grounds. Judged on conformation, manners and equipment (not necessarily owned by one exhibitor). 1st – $80 and $70 for each additional hitch, 3:30 p.m.
  2. Four Horse Hitch, light draft. Conditions same as Section 1. 3:30 p.m.
  3. Six Horse Hitch. Conditions the same as section 1. 1st – $100, 2nd – $80, 3rd – $70, 4th – $60, 5th – $50. A $750 Incentive will be paid for each Six Horse Horse Hitch exhibitor provided they show in at least 3 additional categories.
  4. Single Draft Horse, hitched to suitable vehicle. Manners, driving, equipment to count 50%. Horse should conform in type to class. 4:45 p.m.
    1st – $60, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $45, 4th – $40.
  5. Single Commercial Horse, hitched to suitable vehicle. Manners, driving, equipment to count 50% Horse should conform in type to class, 5:15 p.m.
    1st – $60, 2nd – $50, 3rd – $45, 4th – $40.
  6. Unicorn Hitch
    1. Unicorn Draft Hitch.
      1st – $75, 2nd – $60, 3rd – $50, 4th – $40.
    2. Unicorn Commercial Hitch.

  7. Drawing Match – Light Horses. Saturday, August 31, 2019, 5:00 p.m. Combined girth not to exceed 165 inches. No horses may compete in more than one drawing class. All light teams subject to weigh-in. combined weight not to exceed 3300 lbs. Proof of insurance is required. Drug testing when requested. Prize money is 1st – $400, 2nd – $300, 3rd – $280, 4th – $250, 5th – $240 and $100 to each additional team. Operated according to the rules of the Central Canadian Horse Pulling Association.
    Best Dressed Light Team: sponsored by Gerard Pearson and the Joe Rettie Memorial Fund, in memory of Ralph Pearson.
  8. Drawing Match – Heavy Horses. Saturday, August 31, 2019, immediately following Light Horses. Elimination Draw. Proof of insurance is required. Drug testing when requested. 1st – $400, 2nd – $300, 3rd – $280, 4th – $250, 5th – $240 and $100 to each additional team. Operated according to the rules of the Central Canadian Horse Pulling Association.
  9. Youth Class – Single Horse Hitch. Driver must be 10-13 years of age as of January 1, 2018. 1st – $25, 2nd – $20, 3rd – $15, 4th – $10. (to be shown Saturday, September 1, 2018)
  10. Youth Class – Single Horse Hitch. Driver must be 14-18 years of age as of January 1, 2018. 1st – $25, 2nd – $20, 3rd – $15, 4th – $10. (to be shown Saturday, September 1, 2018)
  11. Best Draft Horse in the Fairgrounds. One entry per exhibitor. 10:20 a.m.
    1st – $30, 2nd – $25, 3rd – $20, 4th – $15. Trophy donated by Gerard Pearson of Kinmount
  12. Youth Line Class – any breed. Driver must be 16 years of age and under.

Class 8 – Saddle Horse Show

Rules:

  1. Membership is $12 per exhibitor.
  2. Memberships entitle livestock exhibitors to one entry to the fairgrounds with one helper. Livestock trailers must enter through the Reid St. Gate.
  3. No entry fee will be charged for YOUTH classes.
  4. Entry fee & membership will be required for anyone competing in OPEN classes.
  5. Entries must preregister with the Secretary of the Fair Board. Mail entries to:

  1. All riders must provide Proof of Insurance (OEF or equivalent).
  2. The Kinmount Fair Board or show judge has the right to remove any horse/rider/owner from the show ring or the grounds for inappropriate or unsafe behaviour.

  1. English Pleasure Horse – to be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. Horse to back readily. Judge may ask for added performance suitable to a pleasure horse. To be judged on performance, manners, conformation, and neatness of horse and rider No martingales or tie-downs.
  2. Western Pleasure Horse – to be shown at a walk, jog, and lope both ways of the ring. Horse to back readily. Judge may ask for added performance suitable to conformation and neatness of horse and rider. No martingales or tie-downs.
  3. Open Showmanship – 10:40 a.m. Saddle horse or pony.
  4. “Fun Class” – Steady Hands.
  5. Palomino Show Horse, tack optional. To be shown at a walk, trot, and canter both ways of the ring. Performance and manners 50% conformation 25% colour 25%.
